Another ringtone personality test

As an addition to yesterday's story about ringtones and personalities, this article puts a tongue-in-cheek spin on the whole thing:

"Play-it-safe ring:De rigueur for people unable to change their ring, and the choice of many who are shy or cagey about their musical taste. People who choose this option don't let on about their musical taste but they could be revealing they're a technological-dinosaur.

The high-brow ring:This is for the more cultured mobile user. The ringtone tries to show an intelligent taste and inherent class and style. But coupled with an out of date mobile, this could portray the owner as a bit of a fuddy-duddy. Another risk is that the owner of the phone is seen as pretentious.

The Joker: Dr Donna Dawson found that men with rude or animal noises as their ringtone tend to see mobiles as a toy for grown-ups and find it hard to conceal their inner child. The same applies for people who download Star Wars or The Wombles ringtones.

Anything from The Brits 2005: For people who like to be thought of as up to the minute, hip, and fashionable. This ringtone goes out of fashion so fast it may stop being hip by the time you answer the call. Dr Dawson warns that attempted hipsters with this sort of ringtone live for the moment but may not be the most reliable type.

The self-obsessed:People with a ringtone they have recorded themselves may be admitting they like the sound of their own voice a little too much.

The ageing-rocker: People with My Generation and Boston's More than a feeling are revealing that they have got to grips with mobile life but are rejecting today's music."
